Why People Quit Channels: Psychological Mechanisms of Burnout and Motivation Loss
May 26, 2026
19:00 EET
How to Maintain Motivation Without Relying on Income or Metrics
Most channels, blogs, and accounts begin with enthusiasm, but within 3–12 months, most quietly disappear. The reason is rarely a lack of ideas or time — more often it is an internal crisis: loss of meaning, accumulated fatigue, comparison with others, and the feeling that "it's all pointless."
When the focus shifts from "I want to share" to "I need to monetize," motivation becomes dependent on external metrics — views, followers, revenue. As soon as numbers stop growing (which they almost always do), a sense of failure appears and the desire to quit increases.
Research in self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan), creative burnout studies (2021–2025), and recent surveys among content creators show that channels lasting longer than 2–3 years are almost always built on intrinsic motivation rather than external rewards.
This webinar series is a thoughtful exploration of why we abandon things we once loved and how to restore the feeling of "I want to continue" even without impressive numbers or income. No "make a million with content" promises, no templates or checklists — only an analysis of psychological mechanisms and sustainable approaches.
